      The Role

      You’ll spend two full weeks (June 8th-June 19th) becoming fully immersed within the world of shipbuilding. You will have the opportunity to work alongside professionals throughout the shipyard, shadowing, learning and contributing each day of the Program. By the time you complete the Program, you will have an excellent working knowledge of how internal departments function and how Ingalls builds the finest ships for our customers.

      Must Have

      • Be currently employed as an educator in an accredited school
      • Successfully complete a criminal background investigation, physical, and a hair follicle drug screen
      • Commit to work a 40-hour work week for the two week duration of the program (June 8th - June 19th, 2026)
      • Must have and bring steel toe shoes to the program daily.
      • Must be able to wear PPE daily.

      Project Requirement

      A requirement of this program is the completion of a Capstone Project to be presented to Ingalls executive leadership. The Capstone Project will allow you to demonstrate in a creative and unique way what you have learned throughout the process and how you plan to implement this knowledge into your role in the school system. The day-to-day schedule will designate time for participants to create and complete their Project.
