      Hammond Lower School seeks an accomplished and passionate educator to join our 4th grade team as a full-time exempt homeroom teacher. Our 4th grade team is a high performing, engaged, and caring team that uses a team-teaching instructional approach for the content areas of Math and Social Studies and English Language Arts. We seek an educator who can create a supportive and inclusive learning environment that encourages students to take risks and challenge themselves. Ideally, this teacher will demonstrate a strong foundation in children's learning and social development, specifically 3rd - 5th graders. Participation in ongoing professional development in curriculum, responsive classrooms, and design thinking would be favorable. The content areas of instruction that this teacher would teach is open to reflect the candidate's area of greatest expertise, passion, and experience between Math/Social Studies or English Language Arts.

      Candidates of interest should be experienced, collaborative, organized, and able to communicate effectively with students, teachers, parents, and administrators. Classroom experience at the older lower school levels (3rd-4th) is preferred. Candidates with strong credentials, related experience, and outstanding references may be considered. All candidates must demonstrate the ability to incorporate a variety of instructional methods and strategies to address a variety of learning styles and possess a record of excelling in a collegial environment.


      Required: Bachelor's degree or higher in Elementary Education and/or related field. Graduate work preferred.


      Reporting: Head of Lower School.
