      About the Role

      We are seeking experienced, enthusiastic and flexible person to join our busy team based at Derriford Hospital. The Person will provide support to Senior Managers and Operational colleagues who work in Care and Wellbeing.

      There will be a variety of skills to undertake, including the following:

      • dealing directly with customers by telephone answering calls/message taking

      • administer informal and formal meetings – to include taking minutes.

      • using and assisting with data entry on to our customer database

      • word processing of letters/reports

      • general administrative office duties providing support to our Operational colleagues

      Care and Wellbeing is an evolving and developing area of the organisation that requires a fast-paced level of responsiveness from its services and employees. The postholder will need to respond positively within this type of environment, pro-actively accepting the challenges and opportunities that are fundamental within a changing organisation.

      The role is a hybrid working role, this will include 3 days working from Derriford Hospital and 2 days working from home.

      This is a public/customer-facing role, where the statutory English language requirement for public sector workers applies.

      This position will be subject to a basic criminal record disclosure check.

      Whilst the location/work-base for this role may have been specified our evolving ways of working means that the role may require you to also work remotely (e.g., from home/other locations). We will discuss this with you during the recruitment process.

      About You

      The successful candidate will have the ability to organise and minute meetings, present typewritten information using a range of Microsoft Office tools. You will deal with telephone enquiries from within the Council, from external organisations and from people who need our support.

      You must appreciate the need for confidentiality and accuracy and be able to work flexibly in a demanding and varied environment with tight deadlines.

      You will also have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to liaise appropriately with all levels of professional staff, service users and others. A professional approach with the application of discretion and diplomacy is essential, as is flexibility and the ability to enjoy the challenge of working within a busy environment, producing good quality, accurate, outputs while often working to deadlines.
