      Summary

      We are recruiting for an Application Specialist/Engineer (E.I.T.) for our Measurement Instrumentation (MI) Inside Sales team. The successful candidate will work with the tightly integrated sales team in Calgary including Account and Territory Managers, Project Managers and Technical Specialists to convert Spartan Measurement opportunities into orders. You will report to the Manager, Application Specialists.

      We are specifically looking for a candidate to join our Core Products team, supporting our broad portfolio of products.

      Role and Responsibilities

      • Handle incoming client inquiries and/or requests for quotations
      • Provide exceptional customer experience
      • Prepare technical (i.e. application, instrumentation, process engineering) solutions best suited to meet customer requirements, standards and/or costs demands
      • Use various software and business systems to size and select appropriate equipment
      • Provide proactive and regular quote follow-up
      • Support customers with equipment and process troubleshooting
      • Build strong Customer and Principal relationships
      • Participate in our 7/24 on-call rotation

      Qualifications and Skills

      • Post-Secondary degree in Engineering; Technical Diploma or equivalent
      • Oil and Gas Industry experience an asset
      • A demonstrated desire to understand customer needs, provide personalized service and keep customers informed
      • Ability to identify the problem, effectively use resources, generate alternatives, choose and implement a solution
      • Effective communication and negotiation skills, both written and orally
      • Ability to build effective relationships, connecting with the team and its goals
      • Excellent ability to plan, schedule and prioritize tasks, and anticipate obstacles
      • Demonstrate the ownership necessary for achieving desired results
      • Entrepreneurial work ethic
      • High degree of dependability and reliability
      • Ability to explore alternatives, respond to opposing views, and offer compromise to others
      • Persistence, desire to take the initiative and set challenging goals, ability to work independently and drive to succeed and excel
