- Under supervision performing general clerical duties including opening and sorting mail, filing, photocopying, laminating, binding documents, sorting stationery.
- Under supervision to deal with telephone calls with people at all levels and email enquiries forwarding them and following up to ensure they have been dealt with as required.
- Developed to provide general audio typing using Winscribe, Webex recordings and Advantis.
- Developed to provide administrative support across the department
- Encouraged to participate in team working, ensuring workloads across the department are prioritised and up to date, this includes all office duties.

- ECDL/CLAIT Qualification or working towards
- General knowledge of office procedures

- Knowledge of administrative practice / secretarial procedures
- Knowledge of NHS environment
- Work independently and as part of a team
- Administrative / secretarial / office experience
- Customer Service experience
- Familiarity with hospital Patient Administration System (PAS) or other computer systems
- Experience of working directly with medical staff and other NHS Allied Health Professionals
- Good Keyboard and IT Skills
- Enthusiastic, confident in approach to change
- The ability to be calm and reliable under pressure
- Willingness to adopt a methodical and systematic approach to work with a keen eye for detail, with the ability and willingness to multitask
- Good standard of verbal and written communication skills
- General understanding of absolute confidentiality
- Ability to plan and prioritise workload
- Reliable and positive attitude and approach to work.
- Occupational Health Clearance
- Understanding of Manual Handling techniques

Job summary
To provide administrative support to the Pathology Secretarial Team at Stockport NHS Foundation Trust.
This post will be based within the Pathology Secretarial Team and flexibility to work in all sections of the department will be expected on completion of training.
Undertake the apprenticeship within agreed timescales.
