Purpose of the Position :
Torque tool realization planner has the goal to deliver the right tool to the right place at the right time, the job is to strictly follow planning and project information and implement tooling. And also technically manage the tools from MB standards and strategies from up stream teams. The planner is responsible to guarantee all screws and nuts NOK conditions are detected. Under general supervision, this position is responsible for monitoring torque process control, and for leading torque studies as required for torque release. Support the analysis, prioritization, investigation, and ultimate resolution of product concerns throughout the product life.
Essential Functions:
Project planning:
Support engineering change coordination meetings as required, perform engineering change for potential projects. Includes updates to existing DC tools as needed. Ensure plant training needs are met in specifications. Support production startup plan and design reviews with the project stakeholders to include all project aspects, Receive and compare quotations from potential suppliers in conjunction with IPS, Create Purchase Requisitions, Work with IPS on awarding process, including justifications.
Strategy/Target development:
Work with management and internal stakeholders to develop strategy and goals with series and future product needs in mind. Present and coordinate cross-functional group bottom-up and top-down alignment on strategy and project status, sharing milestones, challenges, and chances. Leading Torque business within the Assembly Shop and working together with global Mercedes-Benz strategy to keep the path forward for the plant in line with our global strategy.
Project implementation:
-Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams for tool upgrades and problem solving.
-Change management interface, ensure correct implementation.
-Support torque release process capabilty studies planning and execution and approval for A, B-Rank fasteners throughout the life of the product.
-Participate in floor investigations to determine root cause of torque concerns and to ensure proper containment.
-Become knowledgeable of Mercedes-Benz torque standards in order to lead or support plant implementation as required.
-Program torque data collection equipment, in PLUS system and tool software, train team members in proper equipment usage.
-Monitor equipment availability, calibration, inventory needs and proper usage.
-Manage QS-Torque and maintain information for tooling verification.
-Support Product Safety requirements implementation and adherence.
-Support implementation, analysis and monitoring of Central Process Archive (CEPRA) requirements as needed.
-Manage tool management service provider.
Project Validation:
Production support to monitor torque tools readiness during change implementation, Ensure all DC tools and non- DC tools running according to RD requirements and process team requirements, Ensure all documentation is executed per the timeline.
Production Monitoring:
Monitor equipment performance, Responsible for coordinating, and managing torque tools used in the production. Ensure accuracy, quality, and efficiency in assembly. Support manufacturing operations by ensuring that all torque tools are properly calibrated, maintained, and available according to production schedules. Work with internal stakeholders to find appropriate solutions to issues/error proofing, in consideration of future projects. Maintain regular communication to TOC/other plants/SAK to stay current on upcoming technologies. Handover torque tools to production.Perform safe work practices and participate in trainings and safety programs in a positive and proactive way by following safety rules, procedures, regulations, standards and laws. Report all unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, and injuries to management, including your supervisor, or the Safety Department.
Work safely 100% of the time.Perform other duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS: Education, Experience and Necessary Skills all must be met in order to qualify for position.
Education :
This position requires a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering or related area or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience :
A minimum of three (3) years' of relevant professional experience in the following area(s):Experience in an engineering role in a manufacturing environment in Quality, Series Planning, Supplier Quality Engineering, Process Engineering, Maintenance Engineering or QRD
Necessary Skills, Certifications, etc .:
Flexibility to support MBUSI needs and demands
- Knowledge in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Project and PowerPoint)
- Process capability and statistics working knowledge, along with mathematical skills to understand and analyze numerical information and to make the right conclusions and decisions.
- Tools and fixtures basic working knowledge.
- Possess very strong problem solving skills in a cross-functional team environment.
- Good communication skills and ability to convey information and to train others on technical topics.
- Ability to work in a team environment; Willingness to excel and take over responsibilities for own tasks and approaches.Preferred Skills :
Ability to clearly communicate technical information, both verbally and in writing.
- Work experience with Mercedes-Benz in torque tooling related issues
- Experience in project management and in leading problem solving groups
- Knowledge in system applications such as SAP, CAD, Engineering Client
- Mercedes-Benz systems working knowledge including Produktionsleit-und –steuerungssystem (PLUS), Manufacturing Reporting System (MRS), Central Process Archiving (CEPRA), ToolsNet, QS-Torque, DIALOG, IPM, TorqueNet, Torque controller programming softwares.
- Time management skills including ability to set goals, prioritize, create schedules and break down large tasks, cost/budget, timeline management, risk management
- Optimization tools and software working knowledge (time management tools, project management software)
- Six Sigma certification
- German Language skills is a plusSponsorship is not required for this position.
