      This position works out of our Ottawa, Ontario location in the Point of Care, Diagnostics division. We’re empowering smarter medical and economic decision making to help transform the way people manage their health at all stages of life. Every day, more than 10 million tests are run on Abbott’s diagnostics instruments, providing lab results for millions of people.

      Our Point of Care diagnostic portfolio spans key health and therapeutic areas, including infectious disease, cardiometabolic, informatics and toxicology.

      What You’ll Do

      • Set up, operate, and monitor Assembly machines and processes in compliance with documented procedures.

      • Continuously monitor the process for jams, equipment disruptions, etc. and address immediately.

      • Measure process cycle time and determine root cause if not at optimum speed. Monitor buffers in front of the bottleneck process to ensure they are always full.

      • Meet, or exceed, operational performance goals such as line speed, efficiency, cartridges per hour, downtime, compliance, yield and output.

      • In collaboration with the Assembly team, maximize cartridge assembly quality,

      efficiency and throughput.

      • Perform procedures as outlined in the job training code, including process monitoring and reacting according to documented procedures. Follow ELN/TCNs attached to builds or experiments.

      • As required support Operator training and development.

      • Request assistance from the Lead Machine Operator or Equipment Technicians when it appears that the process will be down for an excessive amount of time or is not running at standard.

      • Deliver accurate, timely, and legible record keeping in compliance with procedures, abiding by GMP standards and practices.

      • Observe all safety and security policies and procedures.

      • Demonstrate compliant gowning and clean room techniques and maintain a tidy, organized, and clean workspace in support of 5s.

      • Understand and comply with applicable EH&S policies, procedures and guidelines and applicable manufacturing procedures.

      • Safeguard the environment and facilitate a safe and healthy workplace culture.

      • Other miscellaneous duties as may be required.

      Shift: Nights D Shift, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and every other Saturday from 6:30 pm to 6:30 am

      Required Qualifications:

      • High school diploma

      • Ability to plan, organize and prioritize own daily work to meet established schedule.

      • Demonstrated problem-solving and trouble-shooting skills.

      • Detail-oriented and ability to multi-task.

      • Ability to convey communications clearly, concisely, and accurately.

      • Ability to work independently and in groups.

      • Ability and willingness to work overtime when required.
