      The role:

      • Assist staff with general patient care and supervision.
      • Assist staff making and changing beds; toileting, showering or bathing for non-ambulatory, heavy or physically compromised patients.
      • Participate in appropriate training and staff development activities, mandatory training including performance development and planning.
      • Actively participate in and contribute to the organisation’s Quality & Safety and Work Health & Safety processes, including in the development and implementation of safety systems, improvement initiatives, safeguarding practices for vulnerable people, and related training.

      The Team:

      • Spencer Clinic Inpatient Unit is sited within the THS North West, Burnie Campus.
      • We are a 19 bed Acute Mental Health Inpatient Unit with one Attendant rostered per shift
      • The Attendant staff will work within a well-supported team assisting with care & safety of patients

      Details of Appointment

      Fixed term casual, shift-worker position working as and when required, commencing from ASAP for two years.

      *notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant

      • Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time and part time vacancies.

      Salary: $65,236 to $68,925 per annum, pro rata . Plus 11% superannuation contribution

      • Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022

      Eligibility:

      Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:

      1. Current Driver’s Licence

      The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre‑employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted:

      1. Conviction checks in the following areas:
      • crimes of violence
      • sex related offences
      • serious drug offences
      • crimes involving dishonesty
      • serious traffic offences
      1. Identification check
      2. Disciplinary action in previous employment check.
