Draft, review, and negotiate leases, contracts, permits, procurement documents, and other legal instruments to ensure compliance with public contracts law and governmental regulations.
Provide legal counsel to senior leadership on public records, open meetings, real estate, environmental, HR, and policy matters affecting agency operations.
Support litigation and claims by preparing legal filings, coordinating with outside counsel, and assisting with complex cases involving maritime, labor, real estate, and employment matters.
Review legislation, ordinances, tariffs, and public records responses; recommend legal actions to advance organizational objectives; and maintain an active Notarial Commission.

Port NOLA seeks an experienced Attorney 4 to provide legal counsel in transactional and litigation matters. This role supports complex contracts, public procurement, real estate, and high-impact litigation while advising leadership on critical legal and policy issues that affect agency operations and public interests.
The successful candidate will be a proactive team player who can work closely with senior attorneys and supervisors while also confidently representing the agency independently in hearings and court proceedings. The candidate should bring strong analytical thinking skills, the ability to respond rapidly to emerging legal issues, and a commitment to serving the public interest through sound legal counsel and strategic decision-making.
