The ANP is an experienced registered nurse that uses advanced assessment and diagnostic skills in the management of patients referred with a possible diagnosis of prostate cancer. Diagnostic processes include: clinical assessment, consent, review of Imaging, transperineal biopsies under either general or local anaesthetic and relaying diagnosis.

The role will require delivery of a comprehensive urology diagnostic pathway for patients suspected of having prostate cancer and the management of patients on this pathway to the point of diagnosis and the onward referral/liaison with other services (e.g. Clinical/Medical Oncology). Perfoming prostate biopsies requires development of a highly specialist skill and the use of specialist equipment. • About the company

National Health Service (NHS) is the umbrella term for the publicly-funded healthcare systems of the United Kingdom (UK). The founding principles were that services should be comprehensive, universal and free at the point of delivery—a health service based on clinical need, not ability to pay. Each service provides a comprehensive range of health services, free at the point of use for people ordinarily resident in the United Kingdom apart from dental treatment and optical care.
