    • Guides rehearsals, sets the tempo, controls dynamics, and uses gestures to communicate musical, emotional, and structural cues, ensuring precise entrances and cohesion among musicians.
    • Plans and uses appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials, materials, and equipment that reflect understanding of the learning styles and needs of students assigned.
    • Creates an environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of students.
    • Evaluates student performance, regularly updating the gradebook.
    • Effectively provides instruction to the assigned students.
    • Effectively communicates with parents and students as appropriate.
    • Initiates and implements participation of the band and band members in out-of-school band experiences appropriate to the curriculum and student interests.
    • Manages the storage and use of school owned equipment and materials; makes minor adjustments and requests repairs to instruments as required.
    • Develops and implements plans for instrumental music programs and shows written evidence of preparation as required.
    • Cooperates with school administration in providing music programs for sporting events, school productions, mass, graduation ceremonies as appropriate; that enhance the students' performing experience.
    • Supervises and guides the student Band Board, promoting leadership roles for students.
    • Performs other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities assigned by the Principal's Office and Department Chair.
    • Establishes positive and collaborative relationships with all stakeholders and has excellent communication skills.
    • In addition to teaching band, extracurricular responsibilities include directing the Loyola Academy Marching Band and Pep Band.
    • The Band teacher has the option of conducting the pit orchestra for school musical productions. As the musical and technical leader of an ensemble, they interpret the score to create a unified performance .
    • 25-26 Salary Scale
