      JOB SUMMARY:

      The Behavioral Health Assistant (BHA) is a caregiver who functions under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse. The BHA provides patient care in accordance with each patient's individualized plan of care, unit standards and guidelines, hospital policies and procedures, and provides support to patients experiencing acute or chronic mental distress.

      MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

      High School Diploma, GED or foreign equivalent

      BLS for Healthcare Providers, issued by the American Heart Association

      PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

      Bachelor's Degree

      2 years of experience

      Six months experience working in a psych program, schools, residential day treatment centers, security, clinical experience, etc.

      Bilingual

      Child and adolescent experience

      Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) training/certification

      Clinical Nurse Assistant (CNA)/Medical Assistant (MA) experience

      The current salary range for this position is $22.00 to $30.27
