      Summary
The Valley County Parks & Recreation Department is seeking professional Campground Hosts to serve as the primary on-site representatives for the Horsethief and Wellington Campgrounds. Typically residing at the campground, these individuals (or couples) provide a welcoming presence and ensure the general cleanliness and order of the facility. Working closely with the Campground Coordinator and fellow hosts, the Campground Host acts as the eyes and ears of the county, facilitating a positive experience for visitors while helping to protect Valley County's natural resources.

Please note that the Campground Host position is a voluntary service appointment rather than traditional employment.Typical Duties & Responsibilities
The Campground Host is the first point of contact for visitors, greeting campers with a friendly demeanor and providing essential information regarding local amenities, regulations, and site availability. To ensure a high-quality environment, the Host regularly patrols the grounds to monitor stay limits, quiet hours, and proper food storage or trash disposal.

Maintaining the beauty of the facility is a core duty; the Host performs daily cleaning and light maintenance of high-use areas, including vault toilets, fire rings, and picnic tables. Between guest arrivals, the Host ensures campsites are raked and free of litter. Additionally, this role supports administrative compliance by checking for valid parking or camping permits and monitoring Iron Ranger self-pay stations. The Host maintains a professional line of communication with the Campground Coordinator, Idaho Fish and Game, and local law enforcement to report infrastructure damage, supply needs, or emergency situations.
