- Our services are busy, with a high-volume of customers with good equipment and systems - we need someone who can handle a fast pace and work with a small team.
- As a Catering team member, you will be expected to have exceptional customer service and the ability to serve our guests in a friendly, approachable manner.
- Assisting our Chefs with some food preparation and stock rotation in our restaurant areas
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Ability to follow instructions.
- Ability to keep calm under pressure
- You will be pivotal in ensuring full compliance with all Foods Safety requirements
- Level 2 food hygiene certificate or willing to undertake.
- Educated to GCSE level or equivalent, or equivalent experience (to include Maths and English)
- Good knowledge of Food safety
- Experience with Food Allergies, special diets and labelling
- Experience in a similar position where there are peaks and troughs in demand during service times
- A good communicator, able to converse easily
- Excellent Customer Care Skills
- Professional approach, being aware of the diversity of customers served
- Must be able to work without constant supervision and meet deadlines
- Good Interpersonal Skills

Job summary
DSFS are looking to recruit a highly experienced Catering Team Member to join our team on a part time basis of 26.5 hrs per week, working within Cafe @ the Royal, located within the main entrance at Chesterfield Royal Hospital. You will be required to work 4 shifts per week, between Monday and Sunday and show willingness to carry out various duties as set out in the job description.
This opportunity offers shifts 4 days per week, Monday to Sunday, between the hours of 6am and 8pm.
Our Catering Teams are the focal point for patients, visitors and staff in the Hospital. We are looking for someone who will thrive in a role that requires exceptional customer service.

Our Pension is a NEST pension. Upon joining you can choose whether to pay 5% or 8% and DSFS will match whichever you choose.
If applicable to your role and contract we will pay enhancements of 40% for any hours worked after 8pm and before 6am on Monday to Friday and for hours worked on Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays.
