- Collaborate with customers to understand project needs and develop a scope of work.
- Develop technical solutions using existing systems to meet customer goals.
- Participate in design validation and pilot plant testing.
- Design pilot plant test plans and develop processing equipment.
- Work with pilot plant technicians and chemists for system testing.
- Develop process improvement strategies based on laboratory data.
- Perform heat and mass balance and hydraulic calculations.
- Determine optimal equipment for chemical processes.
- Interpret technical data to develop proposals and cost estimates.
- Manage projects from start to finish, including vendor negotiations.
- Prepare material cost estimates for thermal systems.
- Provide technical support and information throughout the project lifecycle.
- Strong understanding of chemical engineering principles.
- Experience with crystallizers and evaporators.
- Proficiency in Piping and Instrument Diagrams (P&IDs) and Heat and Mass Balances (HMBs).
- Experience with high volume liquid throughput systems.
- Technical aptitude in ion exchange, membrane exchange, and membrane filtration.
- Desalination and zero liquid discharge experience.
- Experience with turbines, pumps, and flow rates.
- Ability to work creatively and solve intricate problems.
Job Title: Chemical EngineerJob DescriptionAs a Chemical Engineer, you will interface directly with customers to understand their needs and project requirements. You will be responsible for developing a scope of work and providing technical solutions to achieve desired customer outcomes. This role involves participating in design validation, including pilot plant equipment and laboratory testing.
ResponsibilitiesThe role is based at our R&D Facility in Hartland, where you will work on-site daily. You will interact with a diverse team of customers, vendors, engineers, chemists, and lab technicians to develop and validate systems. The position offers a flexible schedule, typically Monday through Friday, with most team members starting between 7 a.m. and 8 a.m., working 40 to 45 hours a week. Occasionally, additional hours may be required to meet deadlines or address urgent issues. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $95000.00 - $120000.00/yr.
