      JOB SUMMARY: Under general supervision of the Child Nutrition Director, to perform a wide variety of responsible secretarial and routine duties in support of the Child Nutrition Department. Assist in the coordinating, planning, and monitoring of the food service operations and nutritional programs to two campuses. Perform other related duties as required. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Assists the Director of Child Nutrition in managing the food service operations, to administer the School Breakfast Program and the National School Lunch Program, following the TDA guidelines. Assists the Director of Child Nutrition with internal and external program compliance regulations which include updating policies and procedures for daily/monthly/yearly operations. Perform a variety of duties using a computer in daily work activities, update and maintain a variety of records and reports. Assists in maintaining the nutrition software database (Point of Service). Assist the Food Service Manager as needed. Assists in cafeteria operations as needed. Additional duties as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or GED. Food Service Manager Certification (or to be obtained within the first 30 days of employment) KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: Requires the ability to follow oral and written instructions, communicate with fellow employees, students, and staff. Requires the ability to use software to develop spreadsheets and department training. Requires the ability to prioritize workflow to address the multiple needs of the department. Requires the ability to use a computer. Requires the ability to plan and organize. Requires the ability to multitask. EQUIPMENT USED: Kitchen equipment, desktop/laptop, printer, calculator, copier, scanner, and fax machine. PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with everyone with whom the position comes in contact. Prolonged periods of sitting, talking, reading, and working on a computer. Ability to work independently, under pressure, and with discretion, lifting to 30 pounds. WORK ENVIRONMENT: A general office fast pace setting where the work is substantially complex, varied and regularly requires the selection and application of technical and detailed guidelines with TDA regulations.
