      The Office of the City Clerk maintains all official records for the City of Albuquerque, accepts bids from the general public, as well as accepts service of process for summons, subpoenas and tort claims on behalf of the City of Albuquerque.

      The City Clerk works under the administrative direction of the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO). The City Clerk is the chief records custodian for the City of Albuquerque and processes requests for public records pursuant to the New Mexico Inspection of Public Records Act (IRPA). The Office of the City Clerk also manages the Office of Administrative Hearings and is responsible for conducting all hearings specifically assigned by City of Albuquerque ordinance, including animal appeals, handicap parking and personnel matters. The City Clerk performs other related duties as required by the general laws of the State of New Mexico and City of Albuquerque, and by direction of the Mayor, City Council and Chief Administrative Officer, consistent with the City Charter and Ordinances. The office consists of a total of 27 full-time positions and a budget of $2.3 million.

      Possession of a valid New Mexico Driver's License, or the ability to obtain by date of hire.

      Possession of a City Operator's Permit (COP) within 6 months from date of hire.
