Job Description

- Bachelor’s Degree in Clinical Laboratory Sciences or one of the physical sciences – Biology, Chemistry
- Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in designated clinical laboratory setting
- Current New York State License as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist
- Certification from the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) as Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS)- Preferred
- Knowledge of Laboratory Information System – Preferred
- Must possess verbal and spatial ability, form perception, finger and manual dexterity and clerical ability.
- Near visual acuity required for reading results from reports and viewing computer screens
- Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently
- Ability to read computer screens, procedure manuals and other documents
- Ability to hear doorbells, alarms, telephone, and other mechanical devices
- Ability to pass a test for color blindness
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.

Special Requirements
Conducts moderate to high complexity testing on clinical specimens in the hospital microbiology laboratory, including but not limited to bacteria, viruses, antigen, molecular assays, antibiotic sensitivity, and infectious disease screening.
