      CNC Machinist – 3rd Shift (10PM–6AM)

      Location: 7850 N. 81st Street, Milwaukee, WI 53222
      Shift: Third Shift (10PM–6AM)
      Schedule: Sun night - Friday morning

      What You’ll Do

      As a Tool Room Technician, you’ll set up, adjust, and operate a wide range of tool room and 3‑axis CNC equipment, including full machine setup and conversational programming, to manufacture, repair, and modify tooling used in production. You’ll support operators, troubleshoot and improve tooling and machining processes, and ensure equipment is running safely, accurately, and efficiently.

      Daily Operations

      • Set up and operate lathes, mills, grinders, and CNC equipment

      • Program CNC machines, select tooling, and adjust for wear and material changes

      • Perform fabrication, machining, and preventative maintenance on tooling

      • Verify parts and tooling using precision measuring instruments

      • Support Production to keep machines safe, efficient, and running to spec

      • Complete complex machining setups and adapt tooling when required

      Troubleshooting

      • Identify and resolve tooling issues

      • Improvise temporary tooling when needed

      • Partner with Production, Engineering, and Maintenance to troubleshoot issues

      • Assist with Root Cause Analysis on recurring production problems

      Project & Prototype Work

      • Build, modify, and repair tools, dies, fixtures, jigs, and attachments

      • Interpret blueprints, sketches, or concepts to plan and lay out work

      • Select materials, document tool changes, and update component records

      • Perform detailed bench work, including polishing, grinding, fitting, and aligning

      • Identify drawing issues and escalate appropriately

      What You’ll Bring

      Minimum Qualifications

      • High School Diploma or GED

      • Accredited Tool Maker Apprenticeship or 4+ years diversified tool/machine experience

      • 2+ years of tool making experience

      • CNC operation and programming experience

      • Ability to read blueprints, drawings, and sketches

      • Skilled in using precision measuring tools

      • Strong math, problem solving, and communication skills

      • Ability to follow instructions and work well with others

      Preferred Qualifications

      • Accredited Tool Maker Apprenticeship or equivalent hands-on training

      • Ability to independently program CNC machines

      • Experience documenting tooling components

      • Metal stamping or cold forming tooling experience

      • MIG/TIG welding experience

      Physical Requirements

      • Constant standing

      • Frequent reaching, fine motor use, lifting up to 10 lbs

      • Occasional walking, balancing, lifting up to 35 lbs

      • Minimal climbing, carrying, push/pull, below-waist work, sitting; lifting up to 50 lbs

      • Ability to meet all physical requirements with or without accommodation
