What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Contribute to the development of Automattic’s product ecosystem, focusing on quality and detail
- Debug and solve complex problems across various programming languages and frameworks
- Collaborate with a global team, participating in discussions and code reviews
- Work on scalable solutions that cater to a diverse user base
- Travel 3-4 weeks per year for team meet-ups
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Production experience with multiple programming languages, particularly PHP and JavaScript
- Strong understanding of software development principles and debugging techniques
- Experience working on scalable applications or with large user bases
- Ability to communicate effectively in a distributed team environment
- Willingness to travel for team collaboration
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Familiarity with open-source software development practices
- Previous experience in a fully remote work environment
- Passion for web technologies and commitment to improving user experiences
