We are currently looking for a Combined Lab and X-Ray Technologist (CLXT) to join our team in Wabasca, a close-knit northern community known for its scenic landscape and cultural richness. This is a unique opportunity to contribute meaningfully to rural health care while broadening your clinical expertise across both laboratory and diagnostic imaging disciplines. This position includes day shifts and on-call duties with occasional early evening shifts. In addition to a competitive rate of pay, Alberta Precision Laboratories (APL) currently has a Remote Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $3,000. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.

      Description:

      As a Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technologist I, you will perform procedures in both the laboratory and in diagnostic imaging, typically in rural sites. You will work as a member of the inter-professional team and be responsible for collecting and analyzing biological specimens, conducting X-ray examinations, ECGs and reporting results. Your responsibilities include preparing patients, venipuncture and micropuncture, routine equipment maintenance, maintaining supplies and performing quality control procedures as required.

      Required Qualifications:

      Completion of diploma from an accredited program in Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technology (CLXT). Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Combined Laboratory and X-ray Technologists (ACCLXT).

      Additional Required Qualifications:

      As required.

      Preferred Qualifications:

      Previous experience in Wabasca, along with proficiency in Vitros XT, Triage, iSTAT, ACL Elite Pro, Clinitek, and Sysmex analyzers is preferred.
