What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Support underwriting excellence for the commercial surety team, focusing on account and transactional units
- Analyze and evaluate new business opportunities to ensure profitability and compliance with company standards
- Contribute to strategy development and execution within the underwriting department
- Act as a resource to local teams, providing technical guidance and support
- Monitor and analyze portfolio performance, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Minimum of 5 years of Commercial Surety underwriting experience in the line of business
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills with experience across various customer industries
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
- Proficiency in underwriting and financial analysis
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- AFSB designation is a plus
- Exposure to credit models such as Moody's RiskCalc & CreditEdge
- Familiarity with industry trends, regulatory requirements, and market conditions
