      Job Summary

      Essential Functions

      • Manages the project life cycle of Generation Interconnection Agreements that opt to self-build transmission facilities for NIPSCO and other transmission projects that involved third-party developers designing and construction facilities that will be owned or operated by NISPCO.

      • Works closely with project stakeholders and legal to review and negotiate Oversight and Transfer Agreements (OTA)

      • Responsible for maintenance of projects, demonstrating competence in the product life cycle components to the definition and management of non-product objectives (safety, cost, schedule, human resource, etc.) Expands competence in integration management to align project resources for optimal productivity. Implement product to project scope configuration management. Applies expanding interpersonal skills to lead, manage, and direct the project management team and project stakeholders.

      • Employs project integration processes to effectively initiate , plan, execute, monitor, and control, and effectively communicate with the customer and ensure project objective accomplishments.

      • Employs quality, procurement, cost, schedule, communication, and risk management processes to effectively plan, execute, commission, and close out projects to ensure customer satisfaction.

      • Work alongside the Substation Operations , Electric Meter, and Construction Structure teams to plan and coordinate maintenance capital projects during the planning years leading up to execution.

      • Applies and integrates proficiency in NIPSCO human resource processes and skills to optimize coordination of the project management team performance and ensure optimum coordination is achieved given existing human resource policies and procedures. Use effective human resource tools and techniques to motivate and drive contractor performance.

      • Effectively engages project stakeholders; employs effective strategies in dealing with adverse or contentious stakeholders and integrates the project objectives with the composite of individual project stakeholder requirements and expectations.

      • Demonstrates the ability to successfully create and maintain an environment supportive of inclusion and diversity.

      • Applies proficiency in effective communication management to manage and control project stakeholders.

      • The Project Manager will manage the project in accordance with industry best practices, the NIPSCO Organizational Process Assets, the Project Management Guidelines and Standards

      • Efficiently manage projects incorporating continuous process improvement and exhibiting professional change management behaviors.

      • First line response coordination after investigating internal and external customer impacting issues.

      • Maintain audit, training, and compliance documentation for Substation Operations, Electric Meter, and Construction Structure teams .

      • Manage l arge scope metering project technical planning support (Renewable/Major Projects).

      • Facilitate cross functional discussions with regular cadence to improve business partner relationships.

      • Field coordination for growth (New Business) metering requests.

      • Electric Meter d ata centralization and technical modernization support work i.e., identifying better ways to track data, equipment to capture field reads, and inventory tracking etc.

      Required Qualifications for Position

      • Bachelor's degree (preferred in Engineering or Engineering Technology)

      • 4+ years technical experience with substation engineering or 7+ years project/architectural engineering/technical experience

      • All successful applicants will be required to pass the PMP PMI Project Management certification within either one year of their hire date or one year after the employee meets the necessary requirements to qualify for the examination. Medium

      • Expanding the project management knowledge base in project management methodology , processes, tools, techniques, and software, increasing personal maturity in project management (Level 3 maturity ) Expanded comprehension in project management guidelines, standard, processes, and job aids. High

      • Expanded proficiency in project management information systems (PMIS) utilization and integration; scheduling software, risk management software, cost management software, and performance metrics (and dashboards) and tool integration of project controls information. Medium

      • Applies an increasing proficiency in leadership, management, organizational theory, personal, interpersonal skills in a "situational leadership" application. Medium

      • Manages project stakeholders using cognitive ability, personal effectiveness, innovation, value-based decision-making, integrated communication (soft and hard skills ); conflict resolution, and teamwork. High

      • Capability to efficiently perform duties under stringent deadlines, schedules, and conditions. High

      • Must be able to work a flexible work schedule including storm and emergency response when and if needed . High

      • Valid driver's license
