What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Respond promptly to interpreting sessions and provide interpretation in a professional manner
- Render correct concepts and meanings according to established interpretation protocol
- Maintain a professional demeanor and remain calm during interpreting sessions
- Follow client instructions and understand protocol and terminology for various industries
- Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and work effectively in a diverse environment
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Fluency in Cree and English, including cultural dynamics
- Excellent listening, retention, and note-taking skills
- Education or work experience in language-related fields preferred
- Must be at least 18 years of age and legally authorized to work in Canada
- High school diploma or equivalent
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Ability to adapt to technology enhancements that improve service delivery
- Read and write in the requested languages
- Experience in teaching, language assessment, translation, or interpretation
