      POSITION SUMMARY:

      Under the direct supervision of the CJIS Manager, this position is responsible for assisting with the administration and resolution of operational and management problems as they relate to criminal justice information. Additionally, this position provides research and analysis relative to state and national laws, rules and regulations that directly and indirectly impact the maintenance or dissemination of criminal justice information. This position must meet and maintain National Crime Information Center (NCIC)/Florida Crime Information Center (FCIC) certification as required and is responsible for maintaining the security and integrity of data housed within the department databases.

      DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

      Specific duties include:

      • Conducting thorough research and analysis of information from multiple resources to formulate a recommendation on administrative, operational, and systematic issues or enhancements;
      • Assisting management in the creation and maintenance of operational procedures to ensure section materials are up to date and available to section members;
      • Serving as liaison with Office of General Counsel (OGC) to receive direction and clarification on interpretation and department position for legal decisions;
      • Assisting management in the tracking of section standards and workload statistics in order to produce departmental, divisional and section level performance reports;
      • Monitoring systems for operational concerns and immediately consults with management and appropriate technical staff to correct issues or programmatic concerns;
      • Conducting research and analysis for special projects related to the division strategic goals or as assigned by management;
      • Maintaining liaison with local, state and federal agencies and the general public by means of telephone, correspondence or personal contact;
      • Communicating effectively with agencies as necessary to obtain required documentation; and
      • Monitoring workflows and assists in the completion of operational activities.

      KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

      • Knowledge of the principles and techniques of effective communication;
      • Knowledge of the criminal justice system;
      • Knowledge of the methods of data collection;
      • Ability to collect, evaluate and analyze data;
      • Ability to utilize problem-solving techniques;
      • Ability to operate computers and other office equipment;
      • Ability to monitor criminal justice information activities;
      • Ability to work independently by planning, organizing, and coordinating work assignments; and
      • Ability to communicate effectively.

      BASE SALARY:

      • $ 47,668.14

      NOTES:

      Starting salary will be at the minimum of the class pay range, unless otherwise dictated by FDLE's pay policy. The elements of this selection process may include a work sample and/or interview. Future vacancies may be filled from this position advertisement.
