      Compensation includes a base salary of $73,800.00 - $110,800.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.

      Cox Automotive seeks a Data Engineer to join AI & Data Delivery Platform organization in Austin, TX.

      Job Summary:

      Are you passionate about data? Join Cox Automotive as a Data Engineer I! You’ll design high-performance queries, work with diverse data sources, and drive data solutions. Collaborate with data delivery teams to build applications using Python and maintain data pipelines, models, and queries in cloud environments using technologies like Snowflake, NoSQL databases, ETL tools, and AWS services (ECS, Lambdas, SQS, DynamoDB, Step Functions, RDS). Contribute throughout the SDLC, from design to CI/CD operations. Make a significant impact in the automotive industry with your data engineering skills!

      WHAT YOU'LL DO

      Role Overview:

      • Collaborate with Product and Engineering to understand data needs and deliver high-quality data solutions.

      • Develop and manage scalable data pipelines and architectures.

      • Engage with your agile delivery team to build a culture of passion, trust, and creativity.

      • Learn and leverage the automotive digital marketing domain to change how the world buys, sells, and uses cars.

      WHO YOU ARE

      Required Experience:

      • Applicants must currently be authorized to work in the United States for any employer without current or future sponsorship. No OPT, CPT, STEM/OPT or visa sponsorship now or in future.

      • Required BA/BS or higher degree in a related discipline with a focus in Data Engineering or Software Engineering

      • 1 to 3 years of related professional work experience in Data Engineering

      • MUST live within a commutable distance to Cox Automotive's Austin TX office and work in a hybrid-onsite setting

      • Experience with cloud-based application development, support and DevOps (ideally AWS)

      • Object-oriented design experience, including applied use of design patterns.

      • Experience with programming languages such as Python

      • Ability to work independently, to design, develop, and deploy solutions, and to deliver projects on time with moderate direction.

      • Ability to collaborate with other developers to build the best solution for the customer.

      • Database development skills, including using database technologies and logical and physical data modeling.

      Preferred AI-Related Skills:

      • Exposure to AI/ML workflows and data preparation for model training

      • Experience with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot)

      • Familiarity with vector databases, LLM integration, or prompt engineering

      • Understanding of MLOps practices and cloud-based AI infrastructure

      • Commitment to ethical AI practices and data governance
