- Performs scientific work associated with the analytical, statistical, and programming skills to collect, analyze, and interpret large data sets; develop data-driven solutions to complex business challenges
- Knowledgeable in accessing and using data from databases, data lakes, data warehouses, operational data stores, and data marts.
- Assessment of alternative data science solutions and approaches.
- Support mission partners in building, improving, and using data science solutions.
- Documentation of designs, approaches, methods, and systems
- Five years of experience with data analytics and visualization tools.
- Experience with predictive analytics, time-series forecasting, geospatial analysis, and broader data science tools
- Experience with statistical analysis
- Experience with relational databases and SQL.
- Experience with other Data Repositories like NoSQL, HDFS, MongoDB
- Programming skills: e.g. R, Python, Java, Scala
- Experience with Agile development methodology
- Strong communication skills and ability to communicate complex subjects to diverse audiences
- Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or another related field and four (4) years of experience with data analytics and visualization tools.
- ETL development using SQL, ETL tools, or programming languages
- Familiarity with AI/ML - both supervised and unsupervised learning
- Experience with DevOps approaches and tools.
- Experience in public health informatics, information systems, and HL7
- Familiarity with Cloud-Native Analytics

Job Description:
We are seeking a Data Scientist experienced in data visualization and reporting to join our team supporting a national Public Health Data Analytics program in Atlanta, GA. As part of the data science team, you will identify and apply data visualization methods and tools for complex public health information types and analyses. These tools will be used to analyze, mine, and report on complex data types to inform public health decision support and policy. In this position, you may also be required to train stakeholders in the use of these tools and support their use through consultative support.
The ideal candidate will be experienced in creating innovative analytics visualizations useful for deeper analytics and mining. In this role, you must be able to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and have strong interpersonal and communication skills. This position is based in Atlanta, GA.

The likely salary range for this position is $60,549 - $101,109. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
