      JOB SUMMARY:

      ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

      The Dental Insurance Specialist plays a key support role within the revenue and billing team by assisting with daily administrative and insurance-related functions. This position helps ensure accurate insurance processing, timely communication, and efficient workflow across the department.

      DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
      • Verify patient dental insurance coverage and benefits
      • Audit patient accounts as requested to ensure accuracy and compliance
      • Manage and respond to client communications via email and fax
      • Prepare and review dental insurance treatment estimates
      • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Supervisor

      MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
      • Working knowledge of Dentrix and eCentral claims systems
      • Proven understanding of dental insurance verification processes
      • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a healthcare office; dental office experience preferred
      • High attention to detail with strong communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills
      • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
      • Strong organizational, analytical, and critical-thinking skills
      • Ability to work independently and collaboratively while exercising sound judgment and professionalism
      • Creative, adaptable, and a proactive team-oriented contributor

      PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
      Note: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions as described. Regular eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity is required to operate office equipment. The ability to perform work at a computer terminal for 6-8 hours a day and function in an environment with constant interruptions is required. At times, Team Members are subject to sitting for prolonged periods. Infrequently, Team Member must be able to lift and move material weighing up to 20 lbs. Team Member may experience elevated levels of stress during periods of increased activity and with work entailing multiple deadlines.
