- BSc (Hons) Nutrition & Dietetics or equivalent
- Registered for Diploma of Advanced Dietetic Practice, Masters module(s), or equivalent experience as demonstrated through portfolio.
- HCPC registration
- BDA membership
- Attendance at BDA accredited course in clinical specialist area.
- Experience of working as a Dietitian at a senior level including paediatric experience
- Understanding of current issues in Nutrition and Dietetics.
- Demonstrate understanding of a paediatric specialist dietetic area.
- Evidence of clinical supervision, attendance of Clinical Supervisory Skills Course or equivalent
- Evidence of Audits or research projects undertaken.
- Good understanding of Clinical governance, risk assessment and continuing quality improvement.
- Experience of delivering education and training.

Job summary
Are you an enthusiastic, motivated Dietitian with a keen interest in working within the Leeds Childrens Hospital Neuromuscular Service, in particular within the Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy service? Do you have a passion for supporting children and their families and carers, working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team? We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Dietitian to join our Childrens Dietetic Team to take up this exciting temporary post, working 7.5 hours per week (0.2WTE) for 12 months.

Main duties of the job
Provide advanced, highly specialised dietetic care to children and young people and their families and carers within the Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) service. Action the UK standards of care for nutrition in DMD through childhood. Collaborate with the DMD MDT around audit and research.

The Leeds Childrens hospital is one of the largest childrens hospitals in the UK. We offer a wide range of secondary, tertiary and supra-regional services. We provide services for the children of Leeds and across the Yorkshire and Humber Region and in some cases further afield.
Our Childrens Dietetic Team is a large, friendly and supportive department of 36 staff, including Childrens Dietitians, Dietetic Assistants and Dietetic Associate Practitioners, Special Feed Unit Technicians and Admin staff. We are part of the wider Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust Nutrition and Dietetic Service and have close links with adults.
We are committed to clinical governance and staff development through appraisal, training, research and audit. Our mission is to make a positive difference in children's lives.
We provide training programmes for A, B and C placement dietetic learners. You will have access to IT and library facilities.
