- Knowledge of group insurance financial structures including, but not limited to premium administration, claims funding arrangements, product-specific billing requirements, dividend accounting.

Worker Designation – This role is a remote role. This means you will be expected to work from your home, within the continental US. If the role is remote, there may be occasions that you are requested to come to the office based on business need. Any requests to come to the office would be communicated with you in advance.

• Familiarity with absence and leave programs (FMLA, state leaves, employer policies) and how they influence premium and eligibility management.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP premium accounting, cash application, account reconciliation, and financial adjustments.
• Ability to manage complex account structures, retroactive billing, premium corrections, and detailed client-level financial records.
• Proficiency with tools such as Excel (advanced), Power BI, tableau, or similar financial/data platforms.
• Strong ability to interpret data to monitor account health, identify issues, and support client or broker conversations.
• Strong presentation, written and verbal communication skills for a client facing financial environment.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities
• Provides leadership for client accounting functions supporting Life, Absence, Disability and VB product lines.
• Partners closely with operations, product, finance, tax and sales teams to ensure alignment and seamless delivery of accounting services.
• Lead initiatives to enhance financial accuracy, streamline procedures, and improve client outcomes across multifaceted product portfolios.
• Oversee end-to-end client accounting processes including billing, premium collection, remittance, and reconciliation.
• Ensures compliance with internal controls, accounting standards, product-specific regulatory requirements, and applicable tax rules.
• Strengthens accounting controls to reduce risk, enhance audit readiness, and ensure accuracy across all product lines.
• Maintain strong internal controls over client billing, cash handling, and revenue recognition processes.
• Prepare or oversee reporting packages, including client financial summaries, performance metrics, and audit documentation.
• Support sales and leadership by providing financial insights for client renewals, pricing and revenue forecasting.
• Work with key stakeholders in Product, Actuary and Distribution to develop and deploy alternate funding arrangements (i.e. participating, level-funded, hybrid, and non-participating) for applicable Aflac product offerings.
• Collaborate with IT/Systems teams to enhance financial system capabilities, reporting tools, and automation.
• Support internal audits, SOC controls, compliance reviews, and regulatory documentation.
• Serves as the senior financial partner for key or complex clients; leads resolution of escalated financial issues with professionalism, transparency, and urgency.
• Participates in client meetings to review billing performance, resolve issues, and discuss financial trends.
• Represents client accounting in cross-functional steering committees and business reviews.
• Enhances decision-making through data-driven insights and operational best practices.
• Contributes financial service expertise to industry leading value proposition as a preferred leave administrator for existing and prospective state clients.
• Performs other duties as required.
Total Rewards
The salary range for this job is $150,000 to $200,000. This range is specific to the job and salary offers consider a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including, but not limited to: education, experience, licensure, certifications, geographic location, and peer compensation. The range has been created in good faith based on information known to Aflac at the time of the posting.
At Aflac, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for the role to allow for future and continued salary growth, and compensation decisions are dependent on the circumstances of each case. This salary range does not include any potential incentive pay or benefits, however, such information will be provided separately when appropriate.
