      Reporting into the global Supply Chain organization, the Director of Global Trade Compliance will be responsible for both maintaining the current compliance process and developing long term strategies. Responsibilities include maintaining compliance with US BIS Export Administration Regulations, Hong Kong Strategic Goods Act, EU Regulations on Dual Use Goods and any other export control regulations that may be enacted by individual country authorities. Experience with both hardware and software as it relates to compliance is required. This position includes four direct reports located at our Salem New Hampshire, Raleigh N. Carolina, and Shannon Ireland facilities.

      Extreme Networks operates a global network of over 280 operational supply and distribution points around the globe. We leverage both internal corporate legal entities and those of a third party fully integrated 3PL for IOR/EOR. This is a complex & sophisticated systems driven environment utilizing IT systems automation to control Trade compliance in many areas. Many of Extreme Networks products are designated as Dual Use Technology and carry BIS, FSB, HKTID and EU encryption classifications. The successful Director will manage this team and will inherit a stable and successful department of experienced international Trade subject experts. This is a critical role with a focus on forward progression for the team and its vital role in our complex and challenging global business environment.

      Key Duties:

      · Direct & execute trade compliance strategy and policies across the company.

      · Take a strategic view of Trade Compliance and how this department can best serve both the hardware and software aspects of the business.

      · Understand both our hardware and software product roadmap, expansion into new markets and develop a strategy to maintain compliance.

      · Work with external compliance advisor firms where necessary to understand business challenges.

      · Interface with both internal and external Legal teams when required.

      · Develop IT system strategy to support the compliance business needs including assessment of 3rd Party software solutions.

      · Oversight of internal/external audits to assess the import/export compliance of the company.

      · Develop metrics, measurements, and executive level reporting.

      · Oversee submission of regulatory reporting to various government agencies.

      · Maintenance of the company AEO certifications

      Job Specifications:

      · 10 years+ of experience Managing/Directing global trade compliance programs for electronics or telecom manufacturing, high technology, or related distribution companies.

      · Knowledge of trade compliance controls within an ERP environment.

      · Knowledge of trade challenges in a Channel/Distributor driven fulfilment model

      · Extensive knowledge of Trade, Brokerage, import/export, and Customs processes.

      · Knowledge of Hong Kong Strategic Good Control Act, US EAR and EU Dual Use Goods Regulations including experience of AEO & CTPAT certifications would be a distinct advantage.

      · Strong critical thinking skills and executive presentation skills.

      · Ability to interface professionally with all levels & functions of the organization.

      · CUSECO or equivalent qualifications would be an advantage.

      · Experience with M&A events is helpful.

      A successful candidate will have 10+ years of Global Trade Compliance management experience in the high technology field including exposure to related products as Extreme Networks, distribution infrastructure and relevant management experience of a subordinate team. Experience with systems/automation to help support the compliance process, 3PLs and a strategic view of the business is necessary.
