      Job Description
      This contractor role supports the Field Engineering group within Distribution Engineering. The engineer will work closely with field teams to support capital project scoping, field-based assessments, and process improvement initiatives. This role emphasizes technical analysis, documentation, and collaboration with internal stakeholders to enhance system reliability and operational efficiency.
      Key responsibilities include conducting field assessments and power system modeling such as load flow studies. The engineer will support grid modernization, infrastructure replacement, and resiliency programs while scoping capital projects including overhead and underground conductor replacements, programmable capacitor control, and fuse upgrades.
      The role also requires documenting and tracking projects using the client’s Project Initiation Forms (PIFs) and Master Distribution Interface (MDI). Additional responsibilities include providing recommendations for system and process improvements and assisting with training and guidance for engineering teams on new tools and procedures.

      Required Skills & Attributes
      Required Skills:
      • Working knowledge of the distribution grid, automated equipment, and telemetry systems
      • Ability to read and interpret electrical maps and schematics
      • Familiarity with utility applications such as CYME, DMS, EMS, Circuit Viewer, ADMS
      • Basic understanding of engineering principles and electric power flow
      Preferred Skills:
      • Experience with power system modeling and load flow analysis
      • Exposure to grid modernization or resiliency programs
      Additional Skills:
      • Experience with data validation, troubleshooting, and equipment testing
      • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Power Apps, for reporting and analysis
      • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple tasks
      • Effective communication and collaboration skills with engineers, field crews, and internal stakeholders
      Job Schedule
      Monday – Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
