- 5 or more years of experience in engineering/plant manufacturing experience
- Bachelor's Degree
- Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma experience.

- Experience with various machining processes such as broaching, hobbing, grinding, honing, turning, polishing and automation.

- Manage tooling inventory, ensuring optimal stock levels and availability.
- Lead and participate in tooling-related project management initiatives.
- Track and manage tooling orders, ensuring timely delivery and cost-effectiveness.
- Plan and execute comprehensive tool testing to validate performance and quality.
- Conduct thorough tooling cost analysis to identify savings and efficiency opportunities.
- Manage and maintain CAD drawings for tooling designs and modifications.
- Cultivate and strengthen relationships with tooling vendors and suppliers.
- Collaborate effectively with production and engineering teams to resolve issues and implement tooling enhancements.

As an Engineering Specialist, Tooling, you will be an integral part of our Manufacturing team, specifically within the CNC machining operations. This role is crucial for ensuring that our tooling supports the highest standards of precision, efficiency, and quality in the manufacturing of critical engine components like Crank Shafts, Cylinder Heads, and Cylinder Blocks. Your primary focus will be on the optimization and continuous improvement of cutting, grinding, and polishing tooling. You will be responsible for a wide range of tooling management activities, including inventory, procurement, testing, and performance enhancement. Collaborating with various internal and external stakeholders, you will drive continuous improvement initiatives and troubleshoot complex tooling challenges to support the production of the world-class, state-of-the-art smart vehicles we're known for.

Responsibilities
The open position is for a tooling engineer within the CNC machining team. This role specializes in managing and optimizing tooling across its lifecycle, from inventory and procurement to testing and performance analysis. You will be instrumental in ensuring tooling supports the highest standards of precision, efficiency, and quality in the manufacturing processes for critical engine components like Crank Shafts, Cylinder Heads, and Cylinder Blocks. These processes include grinding, polishing, turning, honing, drilling, and milling, and involve materials such as Compacted Graphite Iron (CGI), Forged Steel, and Aluminum. You will collaborate closely with suppliers, engineering, and production teams to troubleshoot issues, enhance tooling performance, and drive continuous improvements. Strong organizational and multitasking skills are essential for success in this position.
