      Job Description

      We are seeking a motivated and self-driven Environmental Field Scientist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with environmental sampling activities and remediation systems. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in the field both independently and as part of a team.

      Key Responsibilities

      • Perform groundwater monitoring, including data collection and field measurements.
      • Collect soil and water samples in accordance with regulatory and project requirements.
      • Assist with stormwater inspections and maintenance.
      • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and plumbing components of remediation systems.
      • Maintain accurate field logs, documentation, and chain-of-custody records.
      • Ensure compliance with safety standards and environmental regulations.
      • Conduct local fieldwork and availability for travel outside the state.

      Qualifications

      Minimum Qualifications:

      • BA/BS with 2+ years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and / or education.
      • Experience with environmental sampling techniques.
      • Valid Driver’s License and as a condition of employment must be able to pass AECOM’s Motor Vehicle Records review.
      • Due to the nature of work, US Citizenship is required.

      Preferred Qualifications:

      • Experience with Soil Vapor Extraction (SVE), Air Sparging (AS), and Pump & Treat (PT) remediation systems.
      • Knowledge of environmental regulations and reporting requirements.
      • 10 or 30 hours OHSA Training
      • Familiarity with water quality monitoring and management practices.
      • Lead and Asbestos certifications/licenses
      • Strong mechanical skills and ability to solve problems.
      • Ability to work outdoors in varying conditions.
      • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
      • Motivated, self-driven, and detail oriented.
      • Basic computer skills for data entry and reporting.

      Additional Information

      • Relocation is not available for this position.
      • Sponsorship is not available for this position.
      • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
      • Comfortable working in field environments, including remote locations and varying weather conditions.
      • Ability to operate a pickup truck and tools.
