What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Oversee facility design and construction services for County departments, providing recommendations on facility projects
- Develop project master plans and implement them through reviews, cost estimates, and construction
- Ensure compliance of vendors and contractors with plans and specifications of construction contracts
- Establish project priorities and set schedules for timely completion of construction projects
- Represent the County in community meetings and maintain current knowledge of professional practices
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering
- Minimum of three (3) years of directly related professional architectural or engineering planning, design, or construction experience
- One (1) year of lead, management, or project management experience
- Licensed as a Registered Architect (R.A.) or Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the State of Texas
- Valid Texas Driver's License and ability to pass a criminal background check
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience in building design and construction/remodeling project management, including scheduling, estimating, contracting, and budgeting
- Familiarity with computer-aided drafting and design (CAD) methods and techniques
- Knowledge of federal, state, local, and county applicable laws and regulations in architecture and engineering
