Act as the first point of contact for patients attending or contacting the practice

Receive, assist, and direct patients appropriately

Book, cancel, and amend appointments using the clinical system

Handle patient enquiries sensitively and signpost to the appropriate service or clinician

Manage incoming and outgoing telephone calls in a courteous and professional manner

Maintain accurate patient records, ensuring confidentiality at all times

Process registration forms, repeat prescription requests, and other documentation as required

Support clinicians and the wider practice team with administrative tasks

Ensure the reception area is tidy, welcoming, and safe

Communicate effectively with patients, colleagues, and external services

Work collaboratively with the reception and clinical team to ensure smooth practice operations

Escalate concerns appropriately, including urgent clinical or safeguarding issues

Adhere to practice policies, procedures, and NHS confidentiality guidelines

Maintain data protection standards at all times

Participate in training, meetings, and performance reviews as required

Support the practice in achieving high standards of patient care and customer service

Undertake any other reasonable duties appropriate to the role

- Ability to remain calm, professional, and courteous under pressure
- Strong organisational skills with good attention to detail
- Ability to prioritise workload and work effectively as part of a team
