  Now Hiring Blacksmith Laborer in Red Lion, PA

  1st shift - Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

  Pay: $18-$24/hour based on experience

  Job Description

  Join our team as a Hammer Smith Laborer in a dynamic manufacturing environment. You will be part of a leading company in the production of custom, precision-ground industrial blades used across various industries.

  Responsibilities

  • Flatten and straighten blades after heat-treatment and grinding processes.
  • Conduct flatness inspections using dial and surface table setup, feeler gauge, and straight edge.
  • Select appropriate hammers for flattening or straightening jobs made from various material grades including SS-440, 420 series, tool steels, and carbon steels.
  • Address various types of distortion or curvature found in jobs after heat treatment and grinding.
  • Practice safe blade handling due to sharp edges and high hardness.
  • Perform laser etching as needed on blanks and fixtures.
  • Assist with safety projects as directed and ensure adherence to Safety, Health, and Environmental policies.
  • Utilize proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times and stay current with required company training.
  • Offer recommendations for enhanced safety measures to the Safety Committee.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  Essential Skills

  • Minimum of 2 years of smithing experience.
  • Completion or ongoing pursuit of a high school diploma or GED.
  • Ability to follow detailed verbal and written instructions.
  • Fluent in English with strong communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with a positive attitude and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team and independently in a manufacturing environment.
  • Responsible and able to complete tasks in a timely manner.

  Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with hand and power tools.
  • Familiarity with measuring instruments like tape measure, micrometer, caliper, and gauges.
  • Knowledge of fabrication, sheet metal, and schematics.
  • Experience with inventory management and order picking.
  • Proficiency in using warehouse inventory systems and sit-down forklifts.
  • Understanding of SAP software.

  The position is primarily indoors with a moderate noise level and requires physical activity such as standing, lifting up to 50 pounds, and engaging in repetitive motions.

  Safety training is provided to ensure a secure working environment.

  Pay and Benefits

  The pay range for this position is $37440.00 - $49920.00/yr.
