  The successful applicant will work within a multi-disciplinary team to provide therapeutic care to service users at Clifton house. The post will involve working with service users 1:1 level as well as part of the team in activities such as, person centred care, ward activities e.g., therapeutic groups, community-based activities and key professional meetings.

  The successful applicant will be expected to work over a 7-day period which includes nights and shift work. As part of the role, there will be required mandatory training via face to face and on- line modules. Along with this, there is scope for professional development. Within the role the successful applicant will be provided with various supervision. As a trust, we also offer wellbeing support in various areas.The trust has core values that all employees will be expected to work towards and staff will be supported through various policies and procedures to maintain quality patient care.

  Main duties of the job

  Leeds and York NHS Partnership Foundation Trust are looking for enthusiastic and experienced Health Support Workers to join our team. We are currently recruiting to our Forensic Inpatient Service at Clifton House.

  o The York Forensic Inpatient Service consists of 3 wards which provide care for people experiencing acute mental health issues.As a Health Support Worker, you will be expected to work with patients, carers and the Multi- Disciplinary Team to provide care to people with mental health needs.

  The successful candidate will be positive and enthusiastic in your approach, calm and confident when dealing with the needs of the service users. You will have excellent communication skills, and will show that you have the ability to form and sustain therapeutic relationships with people with mental health needs.

You will be able to demonstrate a genuine interest in mental health and be committed to involving service users in all aspects of their care. The role requires the candidate to support the care, assessment, interventions and activities for service users.
