- Providing face-to-face support to patients within our practices
- Carrying out clinical duties such as blood pressure checks, ECGs, phlebotomy, wound care, weight management, and NHS health checks
- B12, shingles, pneumococcal and flu injections - experience to undertake these is preferrable
- Supporting the nursing and GP team in chaperoning patients
- Assisting in the assessment and surveillance of patients health & wellbeing
- Vaccine and cold chain storage monitoring and recording
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date clinical records
- Assisting with infection control and general health promotion
- Contributing to a positive and proactive team culture
- Support with clinical stock control management - clearing and restocking consultation rooms.
- Successful completion of the Care Certificate, or willingness to undertake, as indicated by the CQC;
- Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care, or equivalent;
- Eperience of working with, and building up working relationships with GPs, Nursing staff and Admin Staff
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work well on your own as well as working in a team
- Strong understanding of confidentiality.
- Experience of assisting patients with clinical requirements, liaising with clinical staff for healthcare needs, carrying out health checks and must have experience of using clinical systems.

Job summary
Walton Medical Centre are looking for an experienced Heath Care Assistant/GP Assistant to join their busy and rewarding Medical Centre. This role can be offered on a full-time or part-time basis, with flexibility on days and hours. This position falls under ARRS.
Walton is a walm and friendly Seaside town surgery comprising of 2 Partners, GPs, ANPs, Paramedic, Social Prescriber, PCN GP Care Advisor, to name but a few. The practice is committed to the principles of the Improving Working Lives (IWL) Standards to provide a positive, employment friendly approach to the delivery of their healthcare service.

Walton Medical is based in the seaside town of Walton on the Naze in north-east Essex.
There is a wide socio-economic and demographic served within our area which will provide an interesting and varied case mix.
You will be joining an enthusiastic team of clinicians and administrators. The clinical team consists of 2 Partners, 2 Salaried GPs, ANPs, Practice Nurses and GPAs .
You will be well supported with on-going professional development (training support, CPD and peer support). The role will contribute to the improving quality of care of our patients of the practice.
