As a Heavy Equipment Operator, Laborer or Lead Operator you will play a vital role in supporting the day-to-day maintenance functions that keep the park running smoothly.

      Job Summary:

      The Engineering/Maintenance team is responsible for opening properties prior to guest arrival, maintenance and repair during the season and closing properties at the end of the season. Heavy Equipment Operators (requires Class A CDL) are responsible for operating heavy equipment, snow removal, operating electric and hand tools. Heavy Equipment Laborers do not require Class A CDL and assist the department with all tasks.

      Position Type: Seasonal
      Season Dates: March 2026- November 2026
      Pay: $20.50 - $26.75/hour
      Schedule: Typical schedule is 40 hours, 5 days per week (may include weekends, evenings, and holidays)

      Responsibilities

      Heavy Equipment Operator Lead - $26.75/hour

      • Proficiently operating loaders, skid steer loaders, backhoe loaders, dump trucks, snow blowers, and other equipment common to the trade, including shovels, rakes, tampers, etc.
      • Assists with ensuring quality and professional work is completed.
      • Proficiently operating chainsaws, hand saws, wedges, block & tackle, and other tree falling equipment common to the trade.
      • Responsible for placing concrete and asphalt patching parkwide.
      • Responsible for replacement and staining of bumper logs parkwide.
      • Responsible for all domestic utility (water, sewer, electrical) repairs parkwide.
      • Responsible for correct placement of snow poles for future snow removal.
      • Working safe and complying with all current related codes and regulations
      • Proficiently operating loaders, skid steer loaders, backhoe loaders, dump trucks, snow blowers, and other equipment common to the trade, including shovels, rakes, tampers, etc.

      Heavy Equipment Operator - $22.75/hour

      • Proficiently operating loaders, skid steer loaders, backhoe loaders, dump trucks, snow blowers, and other equipment common to the trade, including shovels, rakes, tampers, etc.
      • Proficiently operating chainsaws, hand saws, wedges, block & tackle, and other tree falling equipment
      • Responsible for placing concrete and asphalt patching park-wide
      • Responsible for replacement and staining of bumper logs park-wide
      • Responsible for all domestic utility (water, sewer, electrical) repairs park-wide
      • Responsible for correct placement of snow poles for future snow removal
      • Responsible for working safe and complying with all current related codes and regulations

      Heavy Equipment Laborer - $20.50/hour

      • Assists Crew with parkwide domestic utility repairs (water, sewer, electrical) as needed, with shoveling, raking, tamping, etc.
      • Assists Crew with parkwide placing concrete and asphalt patching.
      • Assists Crew with parkwide bumper log placement and staining as needed.
      • Assists Crew with parkwide snow pole placement for future snow removal.
      • Assists Crew with parkwide snow removal, including heavy shoveling and snow blower usage.
      • Responsible for working safe and complying with all current related codes and regulations.

      Qualifications

      Heavy Equipment Lead Operator Lead

      • Proficient in supervising personnel in accordance with all Xanterra policies and procedures.
      • Proficient in the knowledge about the operation and safety with heavy equipment, tractor-trailers, bobcats, snow blowers and other tools and equipment common to the trade.
      • General knowledge of domestic utility repair work, i.e. water, sewer, electrical.
      • General knowledge of placing concrete and asphalt patching.
      • General knowledge of staining, i.e. bumper log finishing.
      • Must be at least 21 years old and possess a current, valid, Class A CDL license with a good driving record. This position will also be subject to required DOT drug and alcohol testing.

      Heavy Equipment Operator

      • Must be at least 21 years of age
      • Must possess a Class A CDL with a v alid driver's license and a clean driving record
      • Must possess or obtain a current DOT physical qualification
      • General knowledge of the park and the locations of concession buildings
      • Ability to drive in changing weather conditions on narrow mountain roads

      Heavy Equipment Laborer

      • Must be at least 19 years of age
      • General knowledge of placing concrete and asphalt patching.
      • General knowledge of log work, i.e. placement and staining of bumper logs.
      • General knowledge of domestic utility repair work, i.e. water, sewer, electrical.
      • Must be able to read, understand, interpret and comply with all Xanterra’s company policies and procedures.
      • Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to obtain a DOT physical.

      Physical Requirements include:

      • Possess physical stamina to withstand heavy labor related to work in an outside environment.
      • Must be capable of lifting and moving objects weighing up to 70 pounds.
      • Must be able to walk long distances over uneven terrain and climb stairs and ladders in all types of weather conditions.
      • Must be able to stand, bend, kneel, and crawl for extended periods of time as required.
