    • Initiates communication with the Division Chair regarding departmental topics as they arise. Includes
      the Division Chair in communications with outside parties regarding departmental items for
      transparency and support.
    • Reviews and contributes to weekly meeting agenda documents between the Division Chair and the
      Department Coordinator.
    • Provides input for annual Department Work Plan Goals
    • Facilitates department meetings in the absence of the division chair.
    • Provides suggestions to the Division Chair for room assignments, course offerings, teaching
      assignments, and development of the master schedule.
    • Coordinate and attend school activities outside of the contractual day as needed
      (e.g. Student of the Month, Freshman Rising Night, etc..)
    • Reviews various student data with the Division Chair to support teachers as needed.
    • Maintains professional learning, training, and staff development in-service training needs for teachers
      and other staff within the department.
    • Assist Division Chair with monitoring and analyzing department data as it relates to PLCs, IITs, department,
      building, and District goals.
    • Maintains the textbook/course material documents as needed.
    • Provides suggestions for hiring, training, and development of any support staff within the department.
    • Assists with student teacher appointments: may lead communications with universities and internal staff members.
    • Supports other departmental tasks as they arise.
    • Represents the expectations of leadership and professionalism for the department.
    • Assist in coordination of lab materials–including, but not limited to, organizing & maintaining
      content-specific equipment, maintaining a spreadsheet of existing supplies (both consumable and
      non-consumable), communicating need for purchasing consumables with DC when appropriate,
      communicating need for updating or repairing non-consumable equipment, etc

      Purpose: Provide support, organization and leadership for a content area. Serve as an informed resource in
      best instructional practices for high school learning and teaching in that content area. Assist department
      members and school and district leaders in developing a collaborative culture focused on student growth.
