1 Position Summary/Job Duties:
I am a busy professor and part time solo parent. I am offering a position in nearby Shorewood Hills (just west of campus) at my architecturally unique home. I am imagining 6-12 total hours per week, with some flexibility on total amount of work and the timing of much of it. I would appreciate help with multiple jobs:
1. Babysitting - I have a 7 year old son who is pretty easy to take care of. He's usually with me Saturday afternoon - Tuesday morning. I can usually care for him without help. Some Monday afternoons I might appreciate babysitting starting with his 2pm school dismissal. Now and then I might ask if you're available to help during an evening as well.
2. Pet-/housesitting - Now and then I travel, often just for a few days. Maybe you could stop in for a little while on each day, care for my 2 friendly cats, and do other work around the house. Or in some cases, you could stay at the house if you like.
3. House cleaning - I'm looking for help with all cleaning tasks - kitchen and bathroom cleaning, dusting, vacuuming, and mopping, etc.
4. Outdoor work - Seasonally, I'd like help with (A) firewood moving and splitting (with an electric log splitter); and (B) weeding and other work to support my native woodland restoration efforts. This would all be with plenty of specific training from me.
Physical Demands
Outdoor work - moderate strength and endurance (has been performed by multiple female and male students in the past). Application Instructions:
Please send the following to jep1978@gmail.com
1. A paragraph describing your experience and motivation relevant to this position.
2. A description of your typical weekly work availability.
3. Whether you'd probably be interested in continuing to work over the summer and/or return to this job in the fall.
4. Contact info for at least 1 reference who can speak to your reliability and trustworthiness (e.g. a former employer/supervisor).
