      General Description

      Performs light cleaning duties to maintain all common areas and designated resident rooms in a clean and orderly manner. Duties may include making beds, cleaning bathrooms, dusting, vacuuming, general upkeep, linen change out, and trash removal. Additional duties may include laundry services and providing cleaning following spills and accidents.

      Essential Duties:

      • Provides daily cleaning of main common areas and offices to include vacuuming, sweeping, mopping and windows.
      • Cleans residents’ apartments to include bathroom, toilets, trash, dusting and vacuuming.
      • Cleans public restrooms and employee breakroom.
      • Vacuums halls and front lobby as required by schedule or as needed.
      • Responsible for emptying trash in offices daily.
      • Building cleaning as needed to include baseboards, ceiling light fixtures, and other hard to reach/access areas.
      • Responsible for keeping the furniture in common areas clean and free of dust and clutter.
      • Perform laundry functions as needed.

      Qualifications

      Education/Experience:

      • Must possess, as a minimum, a high school education or its equivalent.
      • Prefer prior experience in AL, IL or SNF. Require one year of prior experience in commercial or institutional housekeeping.

      Specific Requirements:

      • Must possess the ability to make independent decisions, to follow instructions, and to accept constructive criticism.
      • Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.
      • Must be willing to work harmoniously with other personnel as well as be willing to handle residents based on whatever maturity level at which they are currently functioning.
      • Must be able to follow written and oral instructions concerning the mixing of cleaning compounds, liquids, disinfecting solutions, etc. Must be able to relate information concerning a resident’s condition.
