Job Description

- One (1) year of customer service or similar work experience preferred
- Employees must comply with the Company’s uniform and grooming standards and must wear his or her SIDA badge/Airport ID at all times.

The Baggage Encoder is responsible for supporting United Airlines IAD’s Baggage sortation process to properly distribute baggage inline system; MU2, MU3 & FIS.
Pay Rate: 18.13 per hour

Responsibilities
- Manually scanning misread bar code tags to determine correct route.
- Manually updating routing information for baggage to be in correct destination.
- Moving unreadable baggage to appropriate area for further action to be taken.
- Reporting inoperable equipment and notify UA supervisor immediately and not operate the equipment.

Physical Demands:
- Individual may be required to lift, push and carry up to 70 pounds or more.
- Able to move, bend, squat, walk, run quickly; sometimes within a small and/or narrow space and long distance as well.

- Ability to plan, organize, follow instruction
- Ability to operate small equipment’s
- Ability to work under pressure , stressful environment and time constrain
Language Skills:
- Bilingual and English as must while being able to communicate face to face and/or by radio; often quickly, under pressure and with environment interference.
- Ability to communicate with people from different walks of life.
- Enough to maintain a conversation which would allow receiving information as well as instructions to be followed
Reasoning Ability:
- Ability to deal with a variety of variables under some standardization.

Finger Dexterity:
