- System Support: Provide technical and functional user support, identify and troubleshoots issues, and present solutions. Interacts with external vendors for product support or technical information related to system support and updates.
- System Administration: Analyze, update and maintain data, system interfaces, and system configurations. Administer and monitor the maintenance of assigned information technology products and equipment. Verify and update account access, controls, and procedures, while maintaining site security.
- System Health & Maintenance: Perform testing and quality control measures in support of system solutions, processes and/or technical products and upgrades. Monitor system performance and health.
- End-User Training: Research issues and opportunities, provide technical training and user support, and document recommendations and solution options.
- Data & Process Management & Reporting: Documents, prepares and/or updates reports, processes, procedures, workflows, templates, instructions, logs, web content, and/or other technical documentation.
- Excellent customer service experience and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively work with technical and non-technical end-users and stakeholders
- Outstanding communication skills, written and verbal, with the ability to clearly convey technical concepts in easy-to-understand language
- Demonstrated technical systems administration experience in the support, maintenance, and configuration of a variety of enterprise systems
- Ability to review, troubleshoot, and update system tables, configurations, and reports across various record management systems.
- Familiarity with capturing, analyzing and documenting business requirements and change requests
- Adept at analyzing and troubleshooting system issues and root cause
- Excellent time management skills and self-driven in identifying opportunities for improvement
- Preferred Experience supporting public safety systems is highly desirable but not mandatory
- Implementation of Single Sign-on for an existing Public Safety application
- Systems support for the introduction of a new Fire Station that will become active in early 2026
- Migration of existing on-premises software to the cloud
- Integration updates between various public safety and enterprise systems
- Replacement of existing Fire inspection software
- Implementation of mobile printers in patrol cars
- Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a closely related field.
- Experience: 3+ years of experience in systems administration, technical production support or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Licensing: Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record.
- Certification: Must be able to pass extensive background investigation as well as pass CJIS and LEDS certification.

About This Opportunity
With the continued growth in the population and the corresponding public safety services and needs of the City of Hillsboro, we are expanding our Information Services team to meet this critical demand. As an Information Systems Administrator, you will be directly involved with supporting the numerous systems that keep our Fire and Rescue Department and Police Department services running effectively and efficiently.
This Information Systems Administrator position will work independently and in small teams to provide technical administration, support, troubleshooting, and problem resolution related to a host of information systems and technical products that support our Public Safety departments and services.

The successful candidate will have a strong technical background in system administration that possesses outstanding customer service and production support skills and is looking to make a difference. Required skills and experience include:
Work Schedule:
This is an in-office position, and the selected candidate will be required to work on-site five days a week for at least the duration of the 6-month onboarding process. After this period, some flexibility may be considered based on performance and departmental needs. The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm, with occasional after-hours work required to support critical projects or address system issues. We prioritize maintaining a healthy work-life balance and strive to minimize these occurrences.
