- Should be able to push/pull, lift/move 15 lb., be able to perform moderately difficult manual manipulations such as using a keyboard, writing, and filing for extended periods of time, must be able to perform tasks which require hand-eye coordination such as data entry, typing and using photo copiers. Mobility requirements may include the ability to be stationary at a workstation for a prolonged period time in addition to being able to squat or be mobile for a reasonable length of time and distance. Communication requirements include the ability to comprehend the spoken English language in addition to being able to communicate and read the English language.
- Reports to the Clinical Manager of Psychiatry and carries out duties as assigned by him/her.
- Oversight of the Peer Vocational Program and Recreational Therapy Department
- Group facilitation and group programing development
- Hiring and maintaining Peer and Recreational Therapy Staff
- Development of program materials
- Oversight of the support of peer specialists in programs contracted with Schenectady County Office of Community Services.
- Ensure program expenses are within grant allowable budget
- Works with community partners on program growth and development
The Integrated Therapies Coordinator provides direct oversight to the peer vocational programs and recreational therapy department. Responsibilities include hiring and on boarding of peer specialists (peers), recreational therapists and recreational therapy aides, scheduling, budgeting, and group material development.
The ITC will facilitate group programing and provide support in the professional capacity of a recreational therapist. Peer oversight includes peer specialists integrated into the following programs: Inpatient Psychiatry, ED Crisis Unit, Outpatient PROS, The Living Room and Family Room ED Diversion programs. Additionally, the ITC will provide supervision and liaison with the Schenectady County Office of Community Service for the Ellis peers working in the YMCA supported housing program as well as with Schenectady County Jail.
The ITC provides consultation to the department on issues concerning peer specialist services and recreational therapies within various programs, elevates consumer feedback to the department administration, supports ongoing education and training for the peers and recreational therapy staff, assists in department-wide training initiatives and programing development. The ITC may also represent Ellis and the department in various community forums.
SECTION II:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT(S):
• Bachelor’s Degree in Rec therapy or Human Services field Experience in facilitating groups, (3) years of experience with psychiatric patients preferred.

Salary Range: $24.75-36.53 /hour Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
