      JOB SUMMARY
      :

      The interns will work alongside seasoned culinarians to get a 360 picture of the hospitality industry, with a focus on the Universal Culinary program. Students will be able to gain exposure to variety of restaurant and styles of service, from signature to fast-casual and special events and our state-of-the-art production kitchen and bakery. Those chosen for this role will have the once in a lifetime opportunity to conduct a presentation that will focus on a dish circled around one of our marquee events or specialty themed locations that will be presented to the Universal Orlando Executive Culinary Team. This role will be fast paced and is ideal for those looking to see the full scale of theme park culinary operation.

      MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

      • Completes hands-on training within Food & Beverage to gain a holistic view of large-scale theme park operations.
      • Assists the Culinary and Bakery & Pastry Team Members getting exposure to multiple operations and styles throughout the resort.
      • Performs duties within different venues as assigned.
      • Presents a dish to the Universal Orlando Executive Culinary Team as a part of a final internship presentation.
      • Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training, and Team Member involvement activities.
      • Performs other duties as assigned.

      MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

      • In pursuit of an Associate, Bachelor or Graduate degree at an Accredited Institution with current class standing of Sophomore or above.
      • Minimum cumulative 2.8 GPA is required.
      • A transcript is required upon application.

      PREFERRED SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:

      • Preferred majors include: Culinary Arts, Hospitality Management, or similar.
      • Basic knife skills preferred.
      • Preferred previous experience in a full-service restaurant.

      Please note the following:

      • This internship will be an in-person experience, based in our Orlando offices.
      • Interns must be currently pursuing a degree at an accredited university, and must have a graduation date later than December 2026.
      • Universal Orlando does not provide housing. Interns are responsible for their own housing and transportation.
      • All of our internships are paid, and you may also qualify for housing financial assistance if applicable. The Recruiter will provide specific eligibility details.
