  Job Description Summary

  Viega LLC is seeking a motivated Operational Technology (OT) & Information Technology (IT) Intern to join the Regional IT Infrastructure Support team. This professional internship provides hands-on experience supporting both manufacturing-focused OT systems and enterprise IT infrastructure. The intern will gain exposure to real-world environments, collaborate with experienced IT professionals, and contribute to operational reliability, cybersecurity, and infrastructure improvement initiatives.
  
  

  What You'll Do:

  • Assist in supporting the securing of the Operational Technology (OT) systems used in our manufacturing environment in McPherson, KS. This position will specifically be involved in an ongoing project – Management of Outdated Systems (MoOS).
  • Support IT infrastructure including endpoints, servers, networking, and user access.
  • Help monitor system performance, availability, and security for IT and OT environments.
  • Assist with documentation of processes, procedures, and system configurations.
  • Support cybersecurity best practices for both IT and OT systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Manufacturing, Engineering, and Corporate IT.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

  What We're Looking For:

  Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Basic understanding of IT and OT concepts.
  • Familiarity with Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Interest in networking, cybersecurity, and industrial systems.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication, organization, and time management skills.
  • Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail.
  • Availability to work up to 40 hours per week during standard business hours.

  Education, Certification/License & Work Experience

  • Currently enrolled in an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree program in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
  • Coursework or interest in industrial systems or infrastructure support is preferred.

  Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.

  Total Rewards Package:

  Compensation

  • Base: $21.00 - $25.00 hourly, based on specific compensable factors including, but not limited to education, work experience, and geographic market.
