      Catholic Charities of Baltimore, Our Daily Bread Employment Center is currently seeking a Job Placement Specialist who is responsible for job development to acquire job openings, promote job opportunities in the business community and build an ongoing relationship with employers. Places clients in jobs with employers. The work schedule is Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM.

      For over 35 years, the Our Daily Bread Employment Center has helped people in need with a daily hot meal, case management, job training, and employment counseling. Our Daily Bread Employment Center is committed to planting seeds of hope daily for individuals experiencing hunger in Baltimore City and helping them improve their lives. Access to healthy food is a human right, and providing it is a collective responsibility.       JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

      • Promotes employment opportunities by actively discovering and sharing job openings that align with client needs and career goals.
      • Educates and advocates with employers on the benefits of hiring Our Daily Bread Employment Center (ODBEC) clients, ensuring equitable hiring practices.
      • Develops and maintains employer relationships through regular outreach, professional communication, and post-placement follow-up to ensure satisfaction and ongoing partnership.
      • Supports clients through personalized coaching, goal setting, and barrier identification to enhance employability and long-term success.
      • Achieves and track job placement goals by matching clients with suitable employment opportunities and maintaining accurate, up-to-date records in agency databases.
      • Represents and markets ODBEC services to the broader community through outreach, presentations, and partnerships with external organizations.
      • Stays informed on labor market trends and workforce development strategies to better serve low-income and underserved populations.
      • Collaborates with team members across ODBEC to deliver comprehensive, high-quality services to clients.
      • Engages in ongoing professional development through required meetings, trainings, and cross-functional learning opportunities.
      • Performs other duties as assigned.

      EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

      • Two (2) years’ experience in workforce development, career counseling, employment services, or case management.
      • Experience working with diverse and/or underserved populations, including individuals facing barriers to employment, with sensitivity to cultural, socioeconomic, and educational differences.
      • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain productive relationships with employers, training providers, and community partners to support program objectives and client success.
      • Working understanding of labor market trends, job readiness skills, and effective strategies for employment placement.
      • Proven experience coordinating events, such as job fairs and resource events, including logistics, outreach, and participant engagement.

      REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES:

      • Demonstrates accountability by consistently being punctual and maintaining reliable attendance.
      • Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills, ensuring clear and effective exchanges.
      • Displays excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
      • Demonstrates accountability by working independently, requiring minimal direction or supervision.
      • Acts with discretion, tact, and professionalism in all situations, maintaining confidentiality and integrity.
      • Requires proficiency in using computer systems and software to perform job function, including but not limited to, basic Windows PC, web browsing (i.e., Chrome, Internet Explorer, etc.), and Microsoft Outlook. Knowledge of other Microsoft Office applications, such as Word, Excel PowerPoint, Teams, and OneDrive is preferred.

      PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:

      • No remote or hybrid work availability based on core and essential functions of the position.
      • Remaining in a stationary position, which may involve standing or sitting for extended periods, as required to complete tasks or duties associated with the role.
      • Moving about to accomplish tasks or transitioning between different work sites, which may involve walking, standing, or traveling to various locations as required by the role.
      • Engaging in communication with others to exchange information, which may involve speaking, listening, writing, or using electronic communication methods to ensure clear and effective understanding. This includes both verbal and non-verbal interactions with colleagues, clients, or external parties.
      • Repetitive motions involving the wrists, hands, and/or fingers, including tasks such as typing, data entry, or handling small objects.
      • Assessing the accuracy, neatness, and completeness of assigned work to ensure it meets quality standards and adheres to established guidelines.
      • Hearing and vision abilities, with or without correction, sufficient to drive safely and effectively observe and communicate with others.

      REQUIREMENTS & ABILITIES:

      Driver's license with no more than 3 points required with own reliable transportation. Ability to move freely throughout the building including using stairs, and to travel between the office and locations in the region in a timely and efficient manner. Must have visual and hearing acuity and clear speech sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job efficiently.
