      PRIMARY PURPOSE:

      The graphic designer will work under the direction of the associate art director to design and create various print and digital materials with a special focus on supporting AMU’s priority inititatives.

      ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

      • Design and create various print materials including but not limited to – one pagers, donor proposals, direct mail pieces, posters, and event collateral.
      • Design and create various digital materials including but not limited to – website graphics, email marketing graphics, YouTube and social media graphics.
      • Perform retouching and manipulation of pictures to maintain a high visual standard.
      • Ensure projects are completed with exceptional quality and on schedule.
      • Ensure brand guidelines are kept.
      • Prioritize and complete multiple projects within design specifications and time constraints.
      • Work under the visual direction of the associate art director to support the design needs of the Advancement department and the University.

      EDUCATION: Bachelors degree preferred

      EXPERIENCE: 1-3 Years graphic design experience preferred

      KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: (WRITE BASED on job needs)

      • Exceptional time management and organizational skills.
      • Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills.
      • Ability to work independently, collaboratively, and under supervision.
      • Knowledge of layout design, graphic fundamentals, typography, web design and print design
        and production.
      • Experience and knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketch, InDesign, and other graphic design software.
      • Experience with fundraising and development (Advancement) is a plus.
      • Experience with email design is a plus.
      • Competency in mentoring student interns when needed.
      • Receive and be able to act on constructive criticism.
      • Have a heart for serving and supporting team member’s and the greater AMU community.
      • Must support the University’s Catholic mission.

      PHYSICAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

      • Visual acuity to use a keyboard.
      • Operate equipment and read technical information.
      • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
        • Ability to sit for extended periods of time.

      WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is performed indoors with minimal safety hazards, and requires seated, standing, and movement work.
